A short loop passed lively streets, markets, and Holy Cross Cathedral, while a longer run west reached Vailala Beach’s quiet shores and friendly neighborhoods. From bustling wharfs to misty waves, each route offered culture, history, and authentic island charm.
Running adventures during Papua New Guinea’s Most Colorful Festival
We ran in Papua New Guinea's highlands at 1,700m altitude, between cheering locals (some still in face paint from the festival), pigs on the roadside, and dramatic lightning across the sky.
