El sol se filtraba a trav\u00e9s de tonos turquesa, y entonces, de repente, apareci\u00f3 una figura tan inmensa que parec\u00eda irreal. Una ballena jorobada. Nuestro primer encuentro, \u00a1y quedamos fascinados!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esta es mi experiencia en el hermoso reino de Tonga... \u00a1donde tambi\u00e9n corrimos! El sendero costero pasaba por palacios reales, tumbas y lugare\u00f1os amables, mientras el viento del oc\u00e9ano nos azotaba. Era crudo y real. Cada a\u00f1o, de julio a octubre, estos amables gigantes migran desde las g\u00e9lidas zonas de alimentaci\u00f3n de la Ant\u00e1rtida hasta las tranquilas y poco profundas lagunas de Tonga para aparearse, dar a luz y criar a sus ballenatos. Septiembre es la temporada alta. Abundan las ballenas, los ballenatos son juguetones y la energ\u00eda en el agua es electrizante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La experiencia m\u00e1s especial: nadar con ballenas<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Hay algo en Tonga que te atrapa. No solo las ballenas, sino tambi\u00e9n el ritmo de vida isle\u00f1o. Algo que experimentamos al correr. El ritmo es lento, sin prisas. Entre chapuzones, nos relajamos en playas desiertas, compartimos kava con los lugare\u00f1os y probamos papayas tan dulces que superan a la fruta del supermercado. Cada noche, el cielo ofrec\u00eda un espect\u00e1culo, con atardeceres que brillaban en tonos rosa, naranja y dorado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es dif\u00edcil explicar lo especial que es esta experiencia. Tonga regula cuidadosamente los nados con ballenas: solo se permiten grupos peque\u00f1os en el agua, y gu\u00edas capacitados garantizan distancias respetuosas. Fue reconfortante saber que lo que hac\u00edamos no era solo para nosotros, sino parte de una cultura de gesti\u00f3n responsable, manteniendo estas aguas seguras para las ballenas y para futuros viajeros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ver ballenas jorobadas en Tonga es vislumbrar algo atemporal. Estos antiguos viajeros llevan milenios visitando las islas, y compartir incluso un breve momento con ellas es un regalo. Para nosotros, fue un regalo que vali\u00f3 la pena recibir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nuestro viaje para nadar con ballenas estuvo lleno de momentos inolvidables: una ballena madre flotando en el azul mientras su cr\u00eda giraba y daba vueltas sobre ella como un ni\u00f1o presumiendo; los profundos y conmovedores cantos de los machos vibrando en nuestros pechos; c\u00f3mo el tiempo parec\u00eda ralentizarse mientras observ\u00e1bamos, suspendidos en el asombro. No se trataba de buscar emociones fuertes. Tambi\u00e9n se uni\u00f3 David, un neozeland\u00e9s con un beb\u00e9 de 9 meses. Su esposa hab\u00eda ido el d\u00eda anterior; se turnaron \ud83d\udc4d. \u00a1Qu\u00e9 ingenioso!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el puerto hac\u00eda un fr\u00edo glacial. El d\u00eda anterior nos llamaron, inseguros por el viento, pero esta ma\u00f1ana el tiempo mejor\u00f3. Salimos una hora antes, a las 7 a. m. La mejor llamada de mi vida. Todo sali\u00f3 perfecto y pagamos con tarjeta. Keisy, una sudafricana, dirige el negocio con mucha energ\u00eda. Por suerte, porque hac\u00eda fr\u00edo y no nos hab\u00edamos vestido adecuadamente. Al parecer, muchos turistas chinos vienen aqu\u00ed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Datos sobre las ballenas<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Las ballenas jorobadas migran miles de kil\u00f3metros cada a\u00f1o, viajando desde la Ant\u00e1rtida hasta las c\u00e1lidas aguas de Tonga. Llegan aqu\u00ed entre julio y octubre para reproducirse y dar a luz. Tonga es uno de los pocos lugares del mundo donde se permite nadar con ellas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La cola de cada ballena, llamada aleta caudal, es \u00fanica, como una huella dactilar humana. Los cient\u00edficos usan fotos de estas colas para rastrear a los ejemplares a trav\u00e9s de los oc\u00e9anos. El Friends&#039; Cafe era realmente el mejor. El edificio, llamado Isabella en honor a la nieta de un escoc\u00e9s, guarda historia en cada rinc\u00f3n. El caf\u00e9 parec\u00eda una c\u00e1psula del tiempo. La reina Isabel II visit\u00f3 Tonga en 1953, la \u00fanica naci\u00f3n del Pac\u00edfico que visit\u00f3. La reina S\u0101lote ya hab\u00eda cautivado al mundo cabalgando descubierta bajo la lluvia londinense en la coronaci\u00f3n de Isabel. Tonga sigue siendo el \u00fanico reino del Pac\u00edfico que nunca ha sido colonizado, y esta visita sell\u00f3 el v\u00ednculo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Las reinas<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>La reina S\u0101lote Tupou III se convirti\u00f3 en monarca a los 18 a\u00f1os y gobern\u00f3 durante casi 48 a\u00f1os. Fue apreciada por su humildad y sabidur\u00eda, y respetada en el extranjero por defender la independencia de Tonga.
