Estando solo en el desierto, hab\u00eda mirado dentro de s\u00ed y, por Dios os digo, se hab\u00eda vuelto loco.<\/p>\n<cite>Joseph Conrad, \u201cEl coraz\u00f3n de las tinieblas\u201d<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un viaje literario\u2026 \ud83d\udcda <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>En 2024 llevaba ya a\u00f1os preparando este viaje... <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Desde 1998, cuando le\u00ed un libro de viajes de Javier Reverte, \u201cVagabundo en \u00c1frica\u201d, (s\u00f3lo disponible en espa\u00f1ol) que describ\u00eda su traves\u00eda por el r\u00edo Congo, inspirado y articulado en torno a la m\u00edtica novela \u201cEl coraz\u00f3n de las tinieblas\u201d de Joseph Conrad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-small-font-size is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Joseph Conrad naveg\u00f3 por el Congo en 1890, impulsado por un deseo de aventuras que le hizo compararse con Don Quijote. Aquel viaje, en el que recorri\u00f3 mil setecientos kil\u00f3metros del r\u00edo, desde Leopoldville (hoy Kinshasa) hasta Stanleyville (hoy Kisangani), despert\u00f3 en el alma del entonces marinero una profunda conciencia de escritor. \u201cAntes del Congo \u2013escribi\u00f3 m\u00e1s tarde en una de sus cartas\u2013 yo era s\u00f3lo un animal. Y le revel\u00f3 una verdad antigua en la literatura y que impregna toda la obra conradiana: la imaginaci\u00f3n es una manera creativa de ordenar la experiencia, y es tambi\u00e9n maestra de vida y de arte.<\/p>\n<cite>\u201cVagabundo en \u00c1frica\u201d, Javier Reverte.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Desde entonces, yo misma so\u00f1aba con el viaje. Y cuando, un par de a\u00f1os antes, descubr\u00ed que habia...<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congorivermarathon.com\/congorivermarathon\">Marat\u00f3n del r\u00edo Congo<\/a>\", la decisi\u00f3n fue obvia \ud83d\ude0d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As\u00ed, cargada de excelentes libros (ver secci\u00f3n \u201c<a href=\"#DRCBook\">Un libro<\/a>\u201d \ud83d\udcd6) \u00a1partimos hacia Kinshasa, en la Rep\u00fablica Democr\u00e1tica del Congo!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aventura premarat\u00f3n: crucero por el r\u00edo Congo<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A principios de esa semana, tomamos una <strong>crucero por el r\u00edo Congo<\/strong> \u2014 un sue\u00f1o m\u00edo \ud83c\udf0a (puedes leer todo sobre eso) <a class=\"\" href=\"#\">aqu\u00ed<\/a> \ud83d\udc48).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83e\udd8d Lola Ya Bonobos: un encuentro salvaje cerca de Kinshasa<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Como parte de las actividades previas a la carrera, la <strong>Marat\u00f3n del r\u00edo Congo<\/strong> se asoci\u00f3 con la empresa de viajes <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motherlandescapes.com\/\">Motherland Escapes<\/a><\/strong> ofrecer una serie de aventuras inolvidables en la semana previa a la carrera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bfUna de las experiencias m\u00e1s conmovedoras?<br><strong>Vistiar a los bonobos en el \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bonobos.org\/\">Lola Ya Bonobos<\/a>&quot; Santuario<\/strong> \u2014justo en las afueras de Kinshasa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El <strong>viernes previo a la carrera<\/strong>,fuimos de visita al santuario. Desde el momento en que llegamos, quedamos maravillados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bonobos.org\/\">Lola Ya Bonobos<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 lo que significa <em>\u201cEl para\u00edso de los bonobos\u201d<\/em> en lingala, se encuentra escondido en un frondoso bosque a las afueras de Kinshasa \ud83c\udf3f. El santuario est\u00e1 impecablemente cuidado, con una rica vegetaci\u00f3n tropical y un aire de serenidad y prop\u00f3sito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sab\u00edamos que est\u00e1bamos en un lugar especial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udc40 Por qu\u00e9 esta visita se queda contigo<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Los propios bonobos, tan humanos en sus expresiones y comportamiento, nos dejaron una profunda impresi\u00f3n.<br>La labor del santuario es vital: proteger, rehabilitar y educar a la gente sobre estos incre\u00edbles grandes simios, que s\u00f3lo se encuentran en el Congo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Consejo de experta:<\/strong> Si est\u00e1s corriendo el Marat\u00f3n del R\u00edo Congo, <strong>no te lo pierdas.<\/strong> Esta visita no es solo una excursi\u00f3n: es una oportunidad \u00fanica de conectar con una especie que comparte m\u00e1s del 98% de nuestro ADN.<br>Lleva contigo toda tu curiosidad y un coraz\u00f3n tranquilo. Suzie s asegur\u00f3 de que la escuch\u00e1ramos, porque lo que explic\u00f3 fue <strong>muy serio.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udc4f La Obra del Santuario<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Suzie transmiti\u00f3 una fuerte creencia en la misi\u00f3n del <strong>Santuario<\/strong>. Nos explic\u00f3 c\u00f3mo <strong>los bonobos son casi humanos<\/strong> \u2014algo que pronto ver\u00edamos por nosotros mismos cuando nos acercamos a ellos \ud83e\udee2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Suzie nos habl\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n sobre c\u00f3mo <strong>cazadores furtivos<\/strong> los cazan y los maltratan, utiliz\u00e1ndolos para <strong>carne<\/strong> o como <strong>mascotas ex\u00f3ticas<\/strong> \ud83d\udeab. Son la \u00fanica especie, aparte de los humanos, que hace esto \ud83d\ude32\u2764\ufe0f.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n vimos dos <strong>grupos escolares<\/strong> paseando \ud83d\udc67\ud83c\udffe\ud83d\udc66\ud83c\udffe. Hab\u00eda muchos ni\u00f1os de varias edades. Me llamaron la atenci\u00f3n sus uniformes impecables: camisas blancas y <strong>faldas o pantalones de color berenjena<\/strong>. Juegan con sus madres, trepan por las lianas \ud83c\udf3f y exploran su mundo con curiosidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Suzie nos dijo que necesitan cari\u00f1o \u2764\ufe0f. energ\u00eda y buena onda \ud83c\udfb6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pronto recogimos nuestros BIBs \ud83c\udfbd \u2014 estaban personalizados: el m\u00edo dec\u00eda <strong>\u201cThe running ginger\"<\/strong>, y Al principio parec\u00edan intimidantes \ud83d\ude2c, pero agradecimos su presencia: estaban all\u00ed para protegernos. \u2705<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n hab\u00eda bastantes extranjeros \ud83c\udf0d. Nancy de <em>Motherland Escapes<\/em> nos cont\u00f3 que muchos congole\u00f1os se inscribieron en el \u00faltimo momento, especialmente para el 10k \ud83c\udfc3\ud83c\udfff\u200d\u2642\ufe0f, y recogieron all\u00ed mismo sus dorsales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Esperando en la l\u00ednea de salida \ud83c\udfbd<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>La m\u00fasica estaba sonando \ud83c\udfb6 mientras parec\u00eda que el inicio del marat\u00f3n (programado para las 6:30 am) se retrasaba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rolly, el organizador del marat\u00f3n, caminaba con un micr\u00f3fono \ud83c\udfa4 y explic\u00f3 que <em>\u201cComenzaremos en 2-3 minutos: tocaremos el himno nacional y nos iremos\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a1Y as\u00ed sucedi\u00f3, sorprendentemente! \ud83d\ude05<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En un par de minutos son\u00f3 el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Mk5r7Q2Xrqs\">himno nacional<\/a> \ud83c\udde8\ud83c\udde9. Los soldados se llevaron las manos a las sienes en se\u00f1al de saludo \ud83e\udee1, y muchos corredores se llevaron las manos al pecho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Empezaron con el <strong>&quot;marat\u00f3n&quot;<\/strong> . A los corredores se les pidi\u00f3 que se alinearan en la salida, y el peque\u00f1o grupo que iba a correr la distancia completa, con sus dorsales morados, lo hizo. Esta vez, las barreras oxidadas estaban levantadas, lo que nos permiti\u00f3 tener mejores vistas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udf89 Final de primera vuelta y aumento de energ\u00eda<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Terminamos la primera vuelta cruzando la l\u00ednea de salida\/meta, donde hubo mucha emoci\u00f3n. Los corredores de 10k se preparaban para empezar pronto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rolly, el organizador, nos vio y grit\u00f3. <strong>\u201c\u00a1Vamos!\u201d<\/strong> \u2014Como el famoso grito de guerra de Rafa Nadal \ud83c\udfbe. Tristemente, m\u00e1s tarde vimos a la misma chica tirada en el suelo en el kil\u00f3metro 6 (nuestro 16), llorando \ud83d\ude30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los dos \u00faltimos kil\u00f3metros del Marat\u00f3n del R\u00edo Congo fueron, en cierto modo, surrealistas. Ya est\u00e1bamos cansados, por supuesto, pero la energ\u00eda de Kinshasa nos impulsaba hacia adelante.
